ORWALL is part of Little League District 28.
D28 has two levels of All Star play -- Special District and National.
Special District vs. National Teams
Special District (SD) teams will compete against other SD teams from our district (includes Tomball, Montgomery, Conroe, and NW45) in one double elimination tournament. The winner of these tournaments will be named the District 28 Champions.
National teams will compete against other teams from our district (includes Tomball, Montgomery, Conroe, and NW45) in a double elimination tournament to win the district title and move on to Sectionals where they will compete against teams from other Little League districts. Winners at those levels will move on to the next level. These are the teams that can progress to State and National levels if they continue to win.
ORWALL will field Special District Teams in the following divisions for 2025:
- Machine Pitch 8: MP7 - Coach Gabe Novotny, MP8AA - Coach Sean Buechele, MP8AAA - Coach Jordan Sammons
- Minors 9: 9AA East - Coach Frankie Draa, 9AA West - Coach Justin Barnes, 9AAA East - Coach Caleb Rickabaugh, 9AAA West - Coach Keith Dewberry
- Minors AAA (league age 10-12): East - Coach Matt Call, West - Coach Daniel Klatt
ORWALL will field National Teams in the following divisions for 2025:
- 8-10 Year Old: East Coach Joe Curiale, West - Coach Matt Brouwer
- 9-11 Year Old: East - Coach Randy Alsworth, West - Coach Bobby Grandas
- Majors: East - Coach Lee Oates, West - Coach Jared Young
- Juniors: Coach Kris Yells
- Seniors: Coach Doug Baird
2025 DISTRICT 28 TOURNAMENT DATES & LOCATIONS
All Stars tournaments are held at the various leagues across D28. You are responsible for your own travel to and from the locations.
For tournaments hosted at ORWALL, it is expected that parents of National team players help support game day operations for the SD tournament and vice versa with the SD team parents help support game day operations for the National Tournaments.
Special District Tournaments will begin May 27th. The tournaments are double elimination and expect to conclude by June 10th.
SPECIAL DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS HOSTS:
- Machine Pitch 8 (League Age 7-8) - ORWALL (concludes June 10th)
- Minors 9 - Montgomery LL (concludes June 10th)
- Minors AAA (League Age 10-12) - Conroe LL (concludes June 10th)
National Tournaments will begin June 10th. The tournaments are double elimination with the winner advancing to Sectionals in at the end of June (tentatively 6/27-7/2). Should an ORWALL National All Stars team win the District tournament, they will move on to the Sectional tournaments. Practices would continue through that tournament (beginning 6/27). Possible time commitment of a National ORWALL team that continues to progress could be into August 2025. All Sectional tournaments, except for Juniors, will be traveling to an out of district location. Juniors Sectionals will be hosted at ORWALL.
NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS HOSTS:
- 8-10 Year Old - Montgomery LL (begins 6/10)
- 9-11 Year Old – ORWALL (begins 6/10)
- Majors - Tomball LL (begins 6/16)
- Juniors – ORWALL (begins 6/10)
- Seniors – ORWALL (begins 6/10)
Players must be available during ALL game dates. Please plan to play for at least a week beginning with the tournament start date.
Practices will begin as close to 5/17 as possible. Players are expected to be able to attend ALL team practices and ALL the team games to participate in All Stars.
2025 ALL STARS COSTS
Special District teams - $75
Players will receive a 2025 All Stars hat, yard sign and commemorative T-Shirt. Players wear their regular season jerseys and All Stars hats during tournament play. This fee covers the hat, yard sign, T-Shirt and tournament fees.
National teams - $175
Players will be fitted for a custom ORWALL All Stars uniform for the tournament. This fee covers the uniform, yard sign, commemorative T-Shirt and tournament fees.
If a National team advances to the Sectional tournament or beyond and it requires travel, ORWALL families are responsible for additional costs related to hotel fees, gas, food, entertainment, etc. These costs are not included in the registration fee.
You will not be charged for these fees until your player is selected for a team. If your player is selected to an All Star team, you will receive notification from ORWALL and will be able to login and pay your balance due for registration via your account on orwallbaseball.com.
ALL STAR TRYOUTS
All Star Tryouts will be held on May 15th. You will receive the link to the Signup Genius when you complete your registration.
Tryouts will only be held for League Ages 7-12. League ages 13-16 will be contacted if they are selected for the teams.
ALL STAR CONSIDERATION
Submitting the interest registration form does not guarantee selection to a team.
To be considered, a player must:
· Be available for multiple practices per week beginning May 17th and continuing for as long as the team is in the tournament.
· Be available without interruption for all tournaments (Special District begins 5/27, National begins 6/10) for as long as the team is in the tournament.
· Have played in 60% of an ORWALL team's Spring regular season games (unless medically excused in compliance with Little League rules and regulations).
· Complete the registration for appropriate league age. Registration will open Friday, April 25th.
· Complete School Enrollment Form, Medical Release Form, and Parent Code of Conduct if selected to a team.
For players in the JR/SR division, the All Star Managers will be selecting the teams. No tryouts will be held.
All Star Managers will use information gathered at the tryouts, stats from the season, and input from division managers to select their roster.
The following criteria will be considered when choosing players:
· Overall ability, in the current and past seasons
· Regular season performance
· Sportsmanship
· Demonstration of a special skill that will assist the performance of the All-Star team in All-Star competition
· Availability for All-Star competition
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will players be notified if they have made a team?
The goal is to have selections made and players notified by May 18th.
How many players are on an All Star team?
· Special District teams will have a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 14 players.
· National teams will have a minimum of 12 players.
Can my player be on more than one All Star team?
No, the ORWALL Board of Directors has decided that players can only play on one All Star team, whether it is National or Special District.
Are there sibling locks in All Stars?
There are no sibling lock options in All Stars. Each player is considered on an individual basis.
Are there sibling discounts for All Stars?
No, there are no discounts for All Star play. The fees go towards hat/uniform and tournament fees.
Does signing up to attend the assessment mean that my player will be on an All Stars team?
No. Submitting the interest registration form does not guarantee selection to a team.
